{"id":75,"date":"2007-09-10T13:56:57","date_gmt":"2007-09-10T18:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.dannorris.com\/2007\/09\/10\/im-a-diver\/"},"modified":"2019-04-01T13:59:16","modified_gmt":"2019-04-01T13:59:16","slug":"im-a-diver","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dannorris.com\/blog\/2007\/09\/10\/im-a-diver\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m a diver"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tIn a departure from the usual technical grind, I spent this past weekend scuba diving in a local quarry (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.haighquarry.com\/\">Haigh Quarry<\/a>, to be precise) and obtained my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.padi.com\/padi\/en\/kd\/openwater.aspx\">PADI Open Water<\/a> certification! It was a great weekend to be in the water (though the water was murky&#8230;about 5-10 ft vis in most places). My classmates were great too and we had fun playing catch with the bowling balls scattered around the bottom. Eunice is an awesome instructor&#8211;be sure to request her when you sign up at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.belowh2o.com\/\">Below H2O<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I logged 6 dives (two as a full-fledged OW diver) and did the first of my 5 required dives for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.padi.com\/padi\/en\/kd\/advancedopenwater.aspx\">PADI Advanced Open Water<\/a> certification.
